Ways To Support
Your generosity means the world to children, adults and families in need of services. Thank you!
We invite you to be a part of our journey as we continue to provide quality supports and services to children and adults with disabilities. Advocates provides quality service delivery to over 1,100 families in Central New York.
As Central New York’s largest provider of individualized services, we continue to grow and offer people with disabilities quality person-centered, self-directed, and community-based services. These services are customized to meet the unique needs of people with disabilities by providing 1:1 skill-building Mentor services in the community, family reimbursement for respite, housing navigation services, service access, in-house and virtual family training, family recreation events, and advocacy. You can make a difference. Please consider making a gift to Advocates’ Annual Appeal by check or by clicking on the tab below. Thank you for your support!
We gratefully accept checks or online donations.

Planned Giving
Your planned gift can help Advocates to meet the needs of generations to come. Contact us to learn more about the ways that a planned or deferred gift can build a bridge to our future and ensure that Advocates will remain strong for the growing number of children and adults with disabilities who will need our support in the future.
Tribute Gifts
A tribute gift is a gift to honor or remember someone. You can make a tribute gift for a special occasion, like a birthday, graduation, anniversary or wedding. You can also make a tribute gift in memory of someone who has died. If you would like to make a tribute gift and would like us to notify someone that you made a gift in their honor or in memory of a loved one, please provide us with the details, and we will be more than happy to send a card to tell them of your gift to Advocates.
Workplace Giving Campaign
Workplace giving is an easy and efficient way to make tax-deductible donations to Advocates. Donations are taken directly out of your paycheck. Designate Advocates for your next workplace giving campaign! Wills, Bequests, Retirement Plans and Life Insurance: these are the most popular types of planned gift programs. Check with your company’s Human Resources Department.
United Way
United Way provides a valuable philanthropic service to hundreds of health and human service organizations. Through their donor designation program, they collect, process and transfer donations on behalf of hundreds of Central New York nonprofit organizations. Please designate Advocates, Inc. when making your gift to the United Way.
Matching Gifts
Matching gifts are a type of corporate giving program that essentially doubles an employee’s initial donation to an eligible nonprofit organization. This is a great way to make an impactful contribution to Advocates. To find out if your company will match gifts, please check with your HR Department.
Bequests
An excellent way for you to support Advocates’ mission is to leave a bequest in your will, living trust or with a codicil. One significant benefit of making a gift by bequest is that it allows you to continue to use the property you will leave to charity during your life. Another benefit is that you are able to leave a lasting legacy. There are a number of ways you can make a bequest to our agency through a Specific Bequest, Percentage Bequest, Residual Bequest, or a Contingent Bequest. Please consult with your financial advisor.
